Default Acquiring class skills from other campaigns

Purchased Nightfalls campaign & really enjoying it. Currently playing an elementalist & after reading their forums, I learned there's some good elementalist spells that can only be learned outside Nightfalls.

I post in this forum instead of elementalist forum because I think this is more of a basic question than class question.

If I buy Faction & Prophecies, how would I get the skills I learn in those games onto my Nightfall character? Will I create characters from scratch in Factions/Prophecies & the spells learned in Factions/Prophecies will shared with my Nightfall character? If not, please correct me.

Thank you so much.

When you go to main towns and outposts in Tyria and Cantha there are skill trainers so you can buy and unlock skills from all continents.

Lion's Arch,Kamadan and Kaineng Center being the main three cities?. So you can take your NF character to Tyria and Cantha and buy skills as and when it suits.

To acquire factions or Prophecies skills, you'll have to travel to those continents (once you add them to your account, of course) to get them, which is pretty easy. All you have to do is progress in the Nightfall story line to reach the Consulate docks. When you get that far, there are two NPCs with quests that will take you to each of those continents. After you complete those quests, you can travel between the continents freely via the ship that appears on the world map.

As long as you add your Prophecies or Factions game key to your current Nightfall account, your existing Nightfall character will be able to travel to those other games.

So as Calista Blackblood says, once you travel to the towns and outposts in those campaigns you will meet skill trainers that you can get the skills from.

For example, when you leave Nightfall and travel to Factions, you will get to the main town of Kaineng Center. In this town there is a Skill Trainer that will be able to teach you a lot of the Factions Elementalist skills.

Here is the link to the wiki page on Campaign Travel. When you reach the port city you obtain the correct quest and take your character to a different campaign.

since not all the main city skill trainers have all skills from the respective game available, another option is to unlock skills using balthazar faction and using normal/elite tomes to learn them on your pve toon.

this may be a better option for quick getting of skills in faction since you can't be run to most outposts in factions. it may also be a decent option for elite skills that are only available near the end of the game or distant elite skill caps.

as the others stated, make sure you add the new game key to your current account, or it will be kinda wasted.

I would further clarify:

While Kaineng center skill trainer Michiko (<3) has every factions skill to train, this does not hold true for the Prophecies "main port" Lion's arch. To get access to all the skills of prophecies, you need to practically finish the game to get to the ring of fire islands, where the "all skill" trainer Dakk for Propecies resides.

As the above poster said, you can unlock a skill with Balthazzar faction and then purchase it from any trainer in the appropriate campaign.

Do note you still need to have the appropriate campaign on your account - if not, you won't be able to unlock those skills or capture them from a boss that might have them.

All spells that you buy get "Unlocked" on your account meaning that your heroes can use them. One way to get some of these "Unlocked skills" for character use is by using a tome. Tomes look like little books and can be bought from other characters and teach you one skill. They work for elite skills too, but I think you would only need a regular one.

Michiko does NOT offer every factions skill initially, all skill trainers will offer you skills you have previously unlocked [3/9/06 update], this is probably what you're seeing.

Thank you everyone for the helpful replies. Followed the main story line (in Nightfall) & eventually, the Docks were a travel option from Map. At this point, I was able to travel to continents for other two campaigns.

In the main story line, the option to travel to docks directly in Map occurs in spoiler.

SPOILER: Major Night Fall main story line inside spoiler tag below.

===
Didn't purchase Prophecies & Faction separately and try to link them to my existing Nightfall account because it was cheaper to just purchase all 3 campaigns @ once.

Explainations/reasons were super helpful everyone
